Andrés Alcántara was born in Torredelcampo, Jaén, Spain, and from a very young age he began to sculpt in cabinetmaking and stone carving workshops. Later, he entered as a free student at the Faculty of Fine Arts (Complutense University of Madrid) and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid.
